Hello, my name is Phillip Parker. If you’re reading this article then it’s chances are that you have a problem, you sweat excessively. And you want to fix that problem! You want to know how to sweat less.
I know what you’re going through, I’ve been there. In case you don’t know excessive sweating a problem more common than you might think, you’re not alone on this one! The clinical term for excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis. So before I talk about my personal story lets have a look at what hyperhidrosis is and it consequences on someones life.
According to Wikipedia:
“Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by abnormally increased sweating, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. It is associated with a significant burden on quality of life from psychological, emotional, and social perspectives. As such, it has been referred to as the ‘silent handicap‘.”
I would like to give emphasis ‘silent handicap’ we both know that other people don’t understand the huge destructive impact this condition has on our lives.
It’s frustrating when other people think you’re sweating because you’re nervous and tell you to calm down.
They don’t understand it’s uncontrollable even if you’re completely calm.
Then you get nervous and start the vicious cycle.
Some of the ways hyperhidrosis sabotages someones life:
- You avoid activities you would like to do otherwise.
- You avoid social situations (approaching new people, discussing some hot topics, not going to social events, etc …)
- You don’t wear the clothes you like because you know that it will instantly trigger your sweating.
- When you’re sweating in public you feel like you’re insane, everybody else is normal and you just can’t stop the trickle.
- You feel that you’re wasting your life with so many missed opportunities.
If you have one of this handicaps than my advice to you is that you must face the problem and fix it. Don’t get into despair there is a solution for your problem.
Low let me talk about my personal experience:
Since I was a kid a always knew that there was something different about me, in the middle of classes and with no apparent reason I would start sweating, as a kid the social pressure wasn’t that important so it didn’t bother me much.
When I hit puberty it’s when things started to get rough, social interactions started to be more complex and my uncontrollable sweating destroyed my social self confidence. Many times I would have to excuse myself to the bathroom to wash the sweat out of my face. So having a girlfriend might as well be something to forget.
Some years would pass and I started university, at this time I was a hermit, which was helpful at the studies, but at what cost! Nothing of interest in those years also so moving on …
After my degree I finally started working, when studying I felt that the sweating didn’t affect my performance much, but now on the competitive professional market I felt my profuse sweating was limiting my full potential, talking to customer and appearing confident was really a pain.
So, having newly acquired financial power, I decided to find how to sweat less, no matter what.
Best of wishes, and that you may start living your life fully.
